Attendance to 15th EMC Fachtagung 2017 – TU GRAZ

One of our Würth Elektronik – Cátedra EMC researchers participated in the 15th EMV Fachtagung that was held in Graz, Austria last 26th and 27th April. This conference has been organized by Technical University of Graz in co-operation with OVE-Akademie, Austria Chapter IEEE EMC Society and Seibersdorf Labor GmbH and it has been a good opportunity for networking with professionals from industry and academia.

Over 100 attendants could discuss about the topics such as EMC-Compliant Design, EMC Measurement Technology, Regulations & Standards and EMC Components.

The contribution that the Cátedra has presented in this Conference is TECHNIQUES TO CHARACTERIZE ELECTROMAGNETIC NOISE SUPPRESSION SHEETS and it was showed through a presentation. This work proposes three techniques to characterize the Electromagnetic Noise Suppression Sheets (NSS) or Flexible Absorber Sheets (FAS). The results presented allow the users to know the performance of NSS in terms of attenuation in different kind of applications with EMI problems such as: Transmission Lines, Cavity Resonance and Magnetic Decoupling. Thereby, it is possible take into account besides the permeability parameter, other factors such as dimension, geometry, gap, thickness or noise source kind.

Furthermore, some applications related to wireless communication where FAS are able to concentrate the magnetic flux to decrease the losses and improve the effectiveness were presented. These applications were based on Wireless Power and RFID communication.

Many attendants showed interest in these materials and asked several questions about their performance and characteristics (more info about this publication).
