Catedra EMC WE-UV event

Last 30 October the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV) held the Catedra EMC WE-UV event whose main aim was to present the activities that annually take place under the umbrella of the collaboration agreement that the Universitat de València has with the company Würth Elektronik.

The event started with a presentation of the fundamentals of the Catedra EMC carried out by its Director, the professor José Torres. Next, Antonio Alcarria, former student of the ETSE-UV and current Product Manager at Würth Elektronik made a presentation on the possible professional profiles that an Engineer can develop working in a multinational company such as Würth Elektronik and reviewed his experience as a trainee student in the Catedra EMC.

Following, there was a space to perform different demonstrations of projects developed by the Researchers of the Catedra EMC to show the different problematic areas related to electromagnetic interferences in electronic designs. During the break, there was a Würth Elektronik stand where the different innovations related with their products were shown. Moreover, it was possible to hand the CV over and talk with the staff of the company as well as the Catedra.

The second part of the conference was carried out by Lorandt Fölkel, Applications Engineer at Würth Elektronik within the scope of EMI problems and design of industrial converters and applications of electric vehicles. Lorandt is a great expert in EMC who has over 25 years’ experience in electronic design and has realized more than 500 seminars to help Design Engineers, providing them with training to facilitate the resolution of EMC problems task in a simple way.
